Introduction
RawClaw ("the App") is developed by Adam Weil ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Information We Collect
Short version: We collect very little. RawClaw is designed to connect directly to your self-hosted OpenClaw gateway. We do not operate an intermediary server and do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our systems.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
- Gateway URL & Token — Your connection credentials are stored securely on your device using the operating system's secure storage (iOS Keychain via
expo-secure-store). These never leave your device. - App Preferences — Theme selection, notification settings, and quiet hours configuration are stored locally on your device.
- Push Notification Token — If you enable push notifications, a device token is generated by Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). This token may be shared with your OpenClaw gateway so it can send you notifications.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your chat messages, AI conversations, or any content exchanged with your OpenClaw agent.
- We do not collect analytics, usage data, or telemetry.
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers.
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data.
How Your Data Flows
RawClaw communicates directly with your self-hosted OpenClaw gateway over a WebSocket connection. All data exchanged — including chat messages, memory files, automations, and status information — flows directly between your device and your gateway.
We have no access to this communication. If you use Tailscale or a similar VPN, the connection is additionally encrypted and never traverses the public internet.
Third-Party Services
The App may interact with the following third-party services:
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — Used to deliver push notifications to your device. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Expo — The App is built with the Expo framework. Expo's over-the-air update service may be used to deliver app updates. See Expo's Privacy Policy.
- Your OpenClaw Gateway — A self-hosted service that you control. RawClaw does not control or have visibility into what your gateway does with data.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information stored on your device:
- Gateway credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by the operating system.
- All communication with your gateway can be encrypted using HTTPS or a VPN like Tailscale.
- No data is stored on or transmitted to our servers.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
